Arrest made after stabbing, police chase near Algonquin

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) -  A man has been accused of stabbing his girlfriend and then leading police on a chase through the Algonquin neighborhood on June 5.

Daymond Malone, 40, is charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief after police said he stabbed his girlfriend and fled from police.

According to reports, Malone stabbed his girlfriend three times Thursday morning at a gas station at Algonquin Parkway and Cane Run Road.

She was able to get out of the car. That's when police said he drove off and ended up crashing his car near PRP High School.

Malone was booked into jail after being released from the hospital. Police said the victim's injuries are not life threatening.
