LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Since 21-year-old Paul Barber's murder, detectives have been working around the clock to find the suspects even risking their lives in the process.
Wednesday night, the first suspect 21-year-old Shakahakeen Boyd arrested at Terry Road and Lower Hunters Trace. He was arraigned Friday morning, Aug. 16. His bond is set at $500,000.
The second suspect is 21-year-old Jevon Curry. He was arrested after that intense shootout with police in the McDonald’s parking lot at the corner of Greenwood Road and Terry Road. Detectives were watching him when they walked up to his car and police say he opened fire. Curry is still in University Hospital after being wounded during the shootout. A woman with him was injured but she is OK and not facing any charges.
The third suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon. His name is Charles A. Washington. The 20-year-old was stopped during a routine traffic stop at Johnsontown Road and Greenbelt Highway.
“He pulled that individual over. He was diligent and recognized that individual as a person that was wanted in connection for that home invasion. Once our detectives got involved it led to charges later in the evening,” LMPD Sergeant Robert Biven said.
All three men are charged with murder, robbery, and burglary.
Police are still searching for more suspects involved. They believe drugs may be the motive for the murder. The two detectives involved in Thursday night's shootout are Bradley Beckham and Kevin Speaks. Both have been with LMPD since 2008.
