LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Louisville Metro Police Department said they have two people in custody after three bank robberies in Downtown Louisville on Wednesday.
Police released the identities of the two suspects in the case at 5:15 p.m. They have charged Darrell Wayne Harris Sr., 40, with robbery charges in connection with the Fifth Third robbery.
Police have charged Larry Bernard Sutton, 54, with two counts of robbery in connection with the Chase Bank robbery as well as the PNC Bank robbery 15 minutes later.
According to police it started at 1 p.m. with a Fifth Third Bank, at Fourth and Liberty. A suspect in that robbery was caught soon after the incident.
At 2 p.m. a Chase Bank at 500 West Jefferson, was robbed and a PNC bank was robbed 15 minutes after the Chase Bank.
Once inside these banks, police said Harris and Sutton handed a note to the teller demanding business cash, stating they were armed and ready to shoot. With money in hand, the suspects left on foot. A detailed description helped police locate and arrest Harris within 20 minutes of his alleged crime. Sutton was arrested just three minutes after fleeing from his second alleged bank robbery.
Harris and Sutton were arraigned Thursday morning. They're both in jail on $35,000 cash only bonds and will appear in court once again July 28.
