HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Two murder suspects arrested in connection with a triple shooting in Paoli, Ind. that left two men dead are due for arraignment Monday afternoon.
A Harrison County judge is set to arraign John Carpenter and James Davidson on murder charges. A third suspect, Elbert Brooks, is already behind bars on $1,000,000 bond.
All three men are charged in what police said they believe is a drug-related shooting. Nicholas Fields and Cory Harris were killed, and Daniel Smitson was wounded last Monday.
Police said a tip lead investigators to the last suspect wanted. Carpenter, police said, was found hiding in a barn in rural Harrison County, just north of Paoli. Police surrounded the property Saturday, but waited through the night for more backup. With guns drawn, police arrested Carpenter Sunday.
After his arrest, police said he was in poor condition having been on the run for six days.
All three suspects are charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of robbery.
An affidavit revealed the men stole methamphetamine during the incident.
