SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A northwest-side homeowner says he isn't mad about losing his $3 pumpkins, he's just bewildered that someone would steal anything from his children.
Surveillance cameras were rolling on Saturday outside the home in the 8600 block of North Fork Drive. Footage shows the a woman run up to the door step and snatch an orange pumpkin. Seconds later, she returns and grabs another.
"It's sad," the homeowner said.
His children, 3 and 7 years old, were preparing to carve the pumpkins later that day.
Other parents at pumpkin patch at a nearby church were also shocked a woman could commit such a petty crime in the middle of the day.
"I mean, it's terrible," one woman said. "Why would someone steal pumpkins when they are so cheap?"
It's not easy being a pumpkin. Chances are, you will end up being stabbed, gutted and left to rot. Some are baked. Some are even smashed on the concrete.
