LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A man’s alleged prank has landed him behind bars in Hardin County, according to police.
Dakota Edwards, 24, is facing charges after police say he stole a Prairie Farms milk truck Sunday morning.
According to a report, a Prairie Farms employee was making a delivery at a Walmart location in Elizabethtown where he left it parked but running in the back of the store. Moments later, he discovered the vehicle missing.
The truck was then discovered parked and undamaged in the north end of the parking lot near Steak ‘N Shake but the keys were missing.
Police said a Walmart employee noticed Edwards parking and exiting the truck then entering Steak N’ Shake.
Police located Edwards inside whom they say was heavily intoxicated with a group friends.
He originally denied moving the truck but later confessed. Edwards allegedly told police it was just a joke and showed officers where he tossed the keys in some nearby landscaping bushes.
Edwards is charged with theft of a motor vehicle and public intoxication.
