LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Kevin Grover, 18, will soon join three others at Louisville Metro Corrections arrested in connection to Riverview Park homicide. But this time, police had to walk their suspect out of his high school in handcuffs.
“For this severe of one, it's the first time I know of it,” says Major Scott Merchant, Clarksville Police Department.
Searching for a suspect in a murder, Clarksville Police says U.S. Marshals received a tip that an 18-year-old wanted for murder in Louisville is a student at Clarksville High School.
“The principal asked him to leave the room and they went to a secure area. After he was in a secure area, away from all the other students, the U.S. Marshals, and the police department stepped in and placed him in handcuffs and arrested him for the warrant,” Major Merchant says.
Police say Grover is one of four suspects in a Riverview Park homicide that happened in May. Police previously released these pictures from surveillance video showing who they believed to be the people responsible for the shooting death of 19-year-old Ryan Higdon.
“Finally, they got their tip that led them to him, and luckily we were able to get him off the street today,” Major Merchant says.
That tip took them to a Clarksville High classroom, but police say, Grover was not surprised to see police at his school.
“He just seemed like he was expecting it. It was like he was expecting something to happen. He didn't resist. Of course, he didn't really have an opportunity to because everyone was there but it was almost like it was going to happen sometime. He was ready for it,” Major Merchant says.
Police say Grover went into custody without resistance and he will soon join three other suspects in Louisville Metro Corrections.
