LMPD investigating after man shot

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The man who was shot in the Newburg neighborhood on Sunday, Oct. 2, has been identified as the teen who was convicted of shooting a student at Fern Creek High School in 2014.

Andre Banks is in critical condition at University of Louisville Hospital after he was found shot multiple times in the 5300 block of Russett Boulevard, that’s just north of Rangeland Road.

LMPD’s Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate. They are asking anyone with information to call the Annonymous Tip Line at 574-LMPD.

Banks was sentenced earlier in 2016 for the shooting at Fern Creek High School. The judge did not give him jail time, but placed him on home incarceration for 100 days. Banks was told if he got in trouble within five years of his sentencing he would be sent to jail for 18 years.
