LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Texas man is in custody after police say he had a gun on the University of Kentucky campus Monday.
In a letter to the UK community, President Eli Capilouto said just before 1 p.m., an employee spotted a man he believed had a gun walking into Buell Armory near the main administration building.
He called police and officers quickly took the man, later identified as Diontre Davis, into custody.
Capilouto also revealed that UK Police had been keeping an eye on Davis since last spring after a student filed a complaint about social media reports he was allegedly posting.
Davis is not a student at the university.
Capilouto said the incident was resolved so quickly that sending out an alert would have been useless.
