Ky. man accused of impersonating fire marshal facing charges

Suspect accused of posing as fire Marshall

MEADE CO., Ky. (WHAS11) – A man police said was impersonating a fire marshal is facing charges after stating to two victims he could inspect their Shively business premises for a fee.

Danny McManama, 67, of Ekron, Ky., is charged with two counts of impersonating a public servant and two counts of theft by deception.

According to an arrest warrant, McManama was caught on surveillance video at the business and could be seen wearing a “type of uniform.”

He was arrested on Oct. 11 in Meade County. The Shively Police Department said he was taken into custody with the help of the Muldraugh Police Department. 

McManama was a former employee at a fire suppression company and has some knowledge of the fire code, according to an arrest warrant.
