Ky. man dies after fight in Nev. detention center

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) – A Kentucky man is dead after a fight inside a Clark County Detention Center Cell in Nevada on Oct. 8.

The man was identified as Jeremy Bowling, 25, of Shelbyville, Ky. by a Clark County, Nev. coroner.

KTNV, WHAS11’s sister station in Nevada, said a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department corrections officer discovered Bowling down in his cell and was bleeding form his head. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police in Clark County, Nev. revealed through their investigation there was a physical altercation between Bowling and 33-year-old Franklin Sharp that lead to Bowling’s injuries, KTNV reports.

Sharp was originally charged with attempted grand larceny and attempted burglary. After Bowling’s death he was re-booked on one count of open murder, according to KTNV.
