Grayson Co. man charged after sexually abusing infant

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Grayson County, Kentucky man is facing charges after police say he sexually abused an infant.

According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, they say they obtained information which showed disturbing images of the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old James Armes, sodomizing and sexually abusing the infant.

Police say they went to Armes’ home in Milwood to serve an arrest warrant Sunday morning. He was already wanted in Cumberland County on outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

According to arrest records, Armes refused to comply with the officer’s commands and would not place his hands behind his back. Police say he reached into his waistband during the struggle. It was unclear if he had a weapon.

Police say they were able to arrest Armes without further incident.

Armes is charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy-victim, 2 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, and four counts of possession/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by minor which are all felony offenses.

He’s currently being held at the Grayson County Detention Center on a $100,000 full cash bond.

Police say Armes is listed in the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry for crimes unrelated to this incident.
