Police investigate fatal shooting at Tim Faulkner Gallery

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A 20-year-old UofL student, identified as Savannah Walker, is dead and five others are injured after an overnight shooting at the Tim Faulkner Gallery in the Portland neighborhood, Metro Police said.

The shooting took place during a concert that was being held at the venue. According to flyers on Facebook, the concert was advertised as 21 and older.

LMPD First Division officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1500 block of Portland Avenue at the Tim Faulkner Gallery around 1:30 Sunday morning. Upon arriving on scene officers located multiple victims that had been shot.

Walker was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound at the scene.

The other victims, ranging in age from 20 to 32, were taken to University Hospital for treatment and all are expected to survive.

Off-duty LMPD officers were working the exterior of the venue at the time of the shooting.

LMPD says as many as 200 people were at the event. Police also say no arrests have been made and they are looking for potential witnesses and other possible shooting victims.

The Faulkner Gallery released the following statement on Facebook:

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating.

Police are urging anyone with information to call 574-LMPD.
