LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11)--Fifteen-year-old Anjuan Carter faced a Jefferson County judge Monday morning. Carter is charged with three counts of murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection to the killings of teen brothers Maurice Gordon and Larry Ordway and another man earlier this year.
The murders happened back in May. Neighbors say they found Gordon and Ordway's burned bodies behind a vacant home near 40th Street and River Park Drive.
Police say Carter and his codefendant Brice Rhodes are responsible but Carter's attorney, Robert Boyd, says his young client was caught up in dangerous circumstances.
“Mr. Carter is a very young boy that found himself in a horrible situation and I think it will come out that he is lucky himself to not have ended up in the position that the victims did in this case,” said Boyd.
Police believe the two victims in this case were killed because they witnessed the murder of Christopher Jones, which Carter and Rhodes are also charged in.
