(WHAS11) - A memo from ford to United Auto Workers confirms what WHAS11’s Joe Arnold was the first to report on Tuesday.

Three hundred positions will be cut at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant.

The memo went out Thursday morning.

The automaker had already announced slower line speeds at both Louisville plants.

Now the Kentucky Truck Plant’s paint department and body shop are being reduced from three to two shifts.

The union hopes that a new round of buyouts and transfers to the Louisville Assembly Plant will limit the number of workers actually laid off.
