WHAS11 viewer pays bill to help man featured on Consumer Watch

Posted on October 21, 2009 at 4:10 PM

(WHAS11) - A WHAS11 viewer has come forward to help a man featured in WHAS11’s Andy Treinen’s Consumer Watch.

Roderick Green is disabled, and he had his electricity cut off by LG&E because of a late payment.

Roderick Green has made that payment and his electricity is back on, but he also has an additional $300 deposit or penalty fee on his bill.

LG&E won’t wave the fee, but they have allowed him to make it in four installments, but that's not good enough for one WHAS11 viewer who wants to remain anonymous.

That viewer called WHAS11’s Andy Treinen and donated the $300 payment.

LG&E says many people with fixed incomes are struggling with a new billing cycle that moved due payment dates earlier for many homeowners.

LG&E hopes to have a more customer friendly system in place by the end of the year.
