(WHAS11) -- Brake problems are forcing Subaru to recall about 200,000 vehicles. The recall affects  Legacy and Outback vehicles from 2005 to 2009.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the brake lines may corrode if they are splashed by salt water through a gap in the fuel tank protector, making it more difficult to stop.

Subaru said there are no reports of accidents as a result of the issue. Owners will be notified and dealers will fix the issue at no cost.
