Some pharmaceutical companies are offering patients coupons to reduce their co-payments on brand name medications.
The reason is to compete with new generic versions of the drugs that are now coming onto the market.
Lipitor, Plavix and Diovan are just a few of the prescriptions included.
Drug-maker Pfizer tested the coupons last year, and now offers co-pay coupons that can bring insured patients six of its medicines, for as little as $4 a month each.
