(WHAS11) -- Federal safety investigators are looking into complaints that power steering can fail on 2011 Ford Explorer SUVs.
The problems could affect 83,000 Explorers from the 2011 model year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received 15 complaints about the problem.
Drivers say the vehicle forced them to use more effort to steer the SUV but no crashes or injuries have been reported.
In some cases drivers got a warning message before the power steering quit.
