LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Kroger Company says they’re dropping prices on nearly 10,000 items because of higher demand for healthy foods.

Consumers will begin seeing lower prices on various groceries including produce, natural foods and organics.

For example, the price of a head of lettuce has dropped from $1.29 to .99; a can of Kroger premium coffee has went down to $5.99 from $8.29.

The price cuts started last month and will continue for the next several weeks.
