(WHAS11) -- The generic version of a popular anti-depressant is being pulled by its maker.
The Food and Drug Administration said tests show the generic version of Wellbutrin XL isn't as effective as the real thing.
Hundreds of patients complained the drug wasn't working - prompting an FDA investigation.
Teva Pharmaceuticals, the maker of the drug, decided to pull it from the market. The company said there are no safety issues associated with the generic products.
