GLI president and CEO resigns, effective immediately

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The president and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc. has announced he will be departing from his current role to pursue other opportunities.

Craig Richard’s resignation will be effective immediately.  Eileen Pickett is set to become interim CEO.

Pickett is the former Greater Louisville Inc. senior vice president.

Acting as the Metro Chamber of Commerce, the organization dedicates efforts to grow business presence in Louisville.

Kerry Stemler, chair of the GLI board, said the organization will continue to build on recent successes under Richard’s tenure.

“Greater Louisville Inc. has managed effectively though transitional periods in the past,” he said in a statement.  “We are fortunate to have the region’s top business leaders helping direct our growth.”

Pickett’s role will be temporary.  The Office of the Chair and Executive Committee will begin discussions pertaining to the selection of a new president and CEO.
