A local health store chain is promoting a drug free campaign for turkeys.
Rainbow Blossom stores are hanging signs advertising their hormone and antibiotic free turkeys in time for Thanksgiving.
Employees say signups for the turkey orders are down this year.
They say the recession could be to blame but they also say buying from them keeps the local economy running.
“We try to do fair trade in Louisville as much as possible. When the money is spent locally instead of going to Wal-Mart, a much greater percentage of that money is kept in the community,” said John Turner, Rainbow Blossom employee.
The store says its local turkeys come from Shelbyville.
They say they'll take orders for any turkeys until November 20th.
