LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—A legend was in town and his product is all the rage this winter, but most people don’t know who he is.

The man that helped create the famous Pappy Van Winkle bourbon that is coveted each year, was at the Kentucky Derby Museum Thursday night.

Ed Foote, a retired distiller, helped produce the original batches of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, which is the 23-year-old bourbon.
