LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A computer store customer on the south side of Louisville called our consumer line recently saying she couldn’t get her laptop back from the store.

Connie Morris says when she visited and called the store looking for answers, no one answered.

Morris dropped off her computer at Louisville Laptop on December 19.

When she went back looking for an estimate several times the store was locked and when she called, no one answered.

WHAS11’s Consumer Watch team agreed to meet Morris at the store on Dixie Highway in search of answers and when we did, there were fireworks.

A man identifying himself as the store owner demanded Morris leave Louisville Laptop.

“You’re leaving – get out of my store,” the man identifying himself as Dan Coomer said. “I do not have her computer.”

The owner of store tells WHAS11 this is one of his four store locations. Coomer says this was his first time he’s been here since three employees quit. He also says the store is now closed.

We asked if he had Morris’ and other customer’s computers and if he did, how could they get those computers back?

Morris remained inside the store saying she wanted her computer back.

“I’m going to lock you in my store, it’s that simple. I’m leaving,” Coomer threatened.

Coomer did not lock Morris in his store but did call police.

While officers met with Coomer inside we talked to Morris in the parking lot, she reiterated that all she wanted was her laptop.

From there cooler heads prevailed. Morris was called back into the store and a few minutes later she came out with her computer in hand.

Well persistence is rewarded. I have the laptop that was dropped off before Christmas. Suddenly it's here, Morris proclaimed.”

Morris says she hopes the business can reorganize and re-open but she doesn’t think she’d have her computer if it wasn’t for the meeting.

The owner tells WHAS11 Louisville Laptop is no more, they’re out of business and they will not be returning to that location.

If your computer was left behind, I’m told you can pick it up at their southern Indiana store at 3314 Grant Line Road in New Albany.
