(WHAS11) -- George Lucas ruffled some feathers this past week when he predicted movie tickets in the future will eventually go up to at least $50, maybe even $150.
That prediction appears to already be coming true. Paramount Pictures and Regal Entertainment are offering customers a first-of-its kind $50 "Mega Ticket" package for the upcoming release of "World War Z".
Before you run from sticker shock the ticket price lets you see the move two days before everyone else.
You’ll also get a digital copy of the movie when it goes on sale, a pair of custom 3D glasses, a movie poster and a small popcorn.
It also comes just days after movie titans Steven Spielberg and George Lucas made a dire prediction: If the movie industry doesn't change the way it does business it may be headed for a scene out of Armageddon.
“There's going to be an implosion where three or four or maybe a half a dozen of these mega budgeted movies are going to go crashing into the ground and that's going to change the paradigm again," Steven Spielberg, said.
The changes are necessary he says, because Blockbusters cost so much to make and are risky for the studios.
"Going to the movies is going to cost you $50, maybe $100, maybe $150," George Lucas, claimed.
For now, at $50 a pop, the movie fans we talked to are looking for a whole lot more than a poster and some popcorn.
"Brad Pitt would have to pick me up at my apartment and get me,” Ben Hayes, theater fan, said.
He might have to wait a while, Brad Pitt is a little busy fighting zombies.
