(WHAS11) -- The cost of filling up your gas tank is getting a little easier to manage as gas prices across the region are dropping.

According to a Lundberg Survey, the average price for a gallon of gas has fallen about 8 cents over the past two weeks and is now $3.56 a gallon nationwide. We are seeing prices a bit less in Louisville and a few cents higher in Southern Indiana.

Experts predict prices will go to around 3.40 a gallon by fall. According to AAA, the national average is falling because crude oil prices are lower.
