LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - The results are in! The annual Taste of Derby Festival took place on Wednesday night and amongst all the delicious food from Louisville's favorite restaurants, a Bloody Mary contest was held. WHAS11's Andy Treinen was one of the judges and a big shout out goes to Dirk Grose of AP Crafters for having the best Bloody Mary recipe in Louisville!
Here is Grose's recipe:
1 can tomato paste
1/2 cup allegro steak marinade
2 tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
1 tsp celery salt
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 lemon - fresh squeezed
1/2 lime - fresh squeezed
5 tsp horseradish
25 clicks fresh cracked pepper
1 liter of tomato juice
1 1/4 oz Finlandia infused with 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, 5 jalapenos, 1 clove garlic, 6 peppercinis, & 6 olives.
