(ABC News) -- Holiday sales started earlier than ever this year. The past week has been filled with deals, deep discounts and sales, both in-store and on the Internet.
So is Cyber Monday still the day to shop online? It depends on what you're buying - and if you know where to look.
My analysis of last year saw prices on Cyber Monday slightly higher than online prices on Black Friday. This year we saw even bigger online discounts on Thanksgiving itself. Still, Black Friday has historically provided lower prices than on your average shopping day, but not all categories of items were equally discounted.
So what should you be buying online today? Here's a look at the offers, by category:
If you're shopping for clothes on Cyber Monday, you'll get some great deals. Many stores are offering discounts off everything on their websites.
Express: Everything online is 40 percent off, plus shipping is free.
Land's End: Everything online is 30 percent off, plus shipping is free.
New York & Company: Everything online is 50 percent to 70 percent off, plus get $25 off your order of $75 or more if you use this code: 3480
The Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic: 30 percent off your entire purchase.
OTHER SITE-WIDE DEALS
Kohl's is offering 20 percent off your entire purchase on Cyber Monday, plus free shipping on everything on the site. The retailer is also offering $80 off the KitchenAid Classic Plus 4.5-qt. stand mixer.
Generally we say wait as long as you can until you need a specific item and you're worried it'll run out. But I found a great deal on a new toy website called YoYo. You'll get 40 percent off any one item.
Amazon.com is offering 10 percent off select Beats by Dr. Dre and Bose brand headphones. These are premium items that rarely go on sale and are on many wish lists.
Amazon is also offering the V-MODA Crossfade noise canceling headphones for $139.95. That's a $60 discount.
ELECTRONICS, TABLETS, TVs and CAMERAS
There are TV deals, but they aren't the best prices of the year; those came with the limited quantity doorbusters on Black Friday. But don't worry, the great deals on TVs will come around again for the Super Bowl.
Still, you can get good deals on larger TVs today, like this one: At Tigerdirect.com, get a 50-inch Vizio LCD TV for $499.
This deal from Amazon.com beat the all-time low price by almost $100! Get a Canon Digital DSLR Camera that's regularly priced at $999 for $699.
The Kindle Fire tablet and e-reader, normally priced at $159, is $129 on Amazon.com on Cyber Monday only.
Office Depot is selling the Nexus 7 for $229 today. It's usually $249.
The deals on the new iPad aren't' so great: B&H Photo and Mac Mall are both offering just $15 off.
At Sears.com, get 10 percent of all appliances.
