ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Nestle Prepared Foods Co. has issued a voluntary recall of Lean Cuisine mushroom ravioli after consumer reports that glass shards were found in the product.
Officials say affected packages of Culinary Collection Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli have productions codes of 2311587812 and 2312587812. Both codes have a "best before" date of December 2013.
The production codes can be found on near the gray "proof of purchase" panel on the right end flap of the package.
Nestle recalled the product after three consumers reported they found small fragments of glass in the ravioli. Officials say there have been no reports of injuries or illnesses.
The entree recalled was produced and distributed nationwide in November 2012. The recall is limited to the two days of production indicated by the production codes.
While Nestle believes very few of the recalled product remain in retail stores, they're advising consumers to check their freezers for the specified Lean Cuisines.
Consumers who purchased the recalled Lean Cuisine entree are advised to contact Nestle Consumer Services at (866) 586-9424 or email@example.com for further instructions. Nestle says it will provide a replacement coupon to those consumers and may retrieve the recalled item for further examination.
