Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The struggling economy is having another impact right here in Louisville.
Papa John's says they have to lay off nearly 30 employees. They say half will be from corporate and the other from printing and promotions.
The company says they had to make the difficult decision based on cost pressures and the economy.
Papa John's told employees about the layoffs earlier this week.
Papa John's has issued a statement saying:
“Continued cost pressures and uncertainty surrounding the economy caused us
to make the difficult decision of implementing a reduction in force at our
corporate office this week,” said Papa John’s spokesperson, Chris
Sternberg.
“Unfortunately, this will impact roughly 30 employees -- approximately 15
in the corporate support area, and 15 in our printing and promotions
subsidiary in response to continued declines in the printing industry.
While letting employees go is never easy, we believed this was necessary to position our company for continued and long-term success.”
