(WHAS11) Massachusetts has now put a limit on lottery ticket purchases, after a report showed that some gamblers were getting through a loophole.
Stores in that state can now only sell a maximum of $5,000 worth of Cash WinFall tickets on a single day and the game, which has seen declining sales, will be phased out next spring.
It all comes after a report from the Boston Sunday Globe which said professional gamblers had found a quirk in Cash WinFall’s rules that guaranteed them a profit, if they bought over $100,000 worth of tickets at certain times of the year.
