(WHAS11) - A Papa John's restaurant in New Albany is helping train new managers for new stores opening in South America.
“We were thinking that Papa John's, the quality really fits in our culture and, the philosophy, most of the reason why is the quality and the philosophy, we really think that this concept would be very successful in Columbia,” says Patricia Bueno, General Manager of the Columbia franchise.
Patricia Bueno and a business partner plan to open six stores in Colombia this year and were training at the store on Charlestown Road.
The manager there says there are only a few differences between the stores here and in Colombia.
“Other than the difference in the size and maybe some of the toppings, it should be pretty standard. Papa John's corporate has some pretty intense screening processes for the vendors so they will make sure the specs are being followed by those people. So, it should be pretty much the same pizza anywhere you go,” says John Rothenburger, store manager of the Charlestown Road Papa John's.
Patricia Bueno says the training has been good but tough.
She says she's been able to learn all she needs to know about opening the franchise in Colombia.
