LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—The Liquor Barn that was slated to close next week won’t be closing, at least for now.
A lawyer for the store on Shelbyville Road filed an appeal in Franklin Circuit Court to overturn the order.
While this appeal is still pending in the court system, the store can stay open for business.
A state ordinance requires liquor stores to be 700 feet away from each other. When Liquor Barn opened, Beverage Warehouse across the street said that was not the case.
That started the court battle that had resulted in the Liquor Barn closing next week, until the appeal was filed.
