LAWRENCE CO., Ind. (WHAS11) -- General Motors’ plans to invest $29.4 million in Lawrence County, Ind. to allow the plant in Bedford to make parts for small engines and new transmissions.
This is part of a $332 million investment that GM is putting into four factories in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
It will allow GM to make a new V6 engine, a new small motor and new eight-speed automatic transmissions.
No jobs will be added but GM says this helps preserve more than 1,600 jobs.
