(WHAS11) General Electric Appliance Park is planning an important news conference Monday, with an “exciting announcement for Appliance Park and our community.”
Just last month, G.E. unveiled production of a new energy-efficient water heater at Appliance Park.
Based on the same technology, state and city incentives and labor concessions, the head of G.E.’s appliance division revealed last month that a new product line could very well be in Appliance Park’s future.
The company is looking at putting a product line into Appliance Park that is currently not here.
WHAS11 asked how many jobs that would provide and the answer by a spokesperson was, “A few.” When asked if it meant thousands? “I can’t speculate on that.”
At the time of this interview, G.E. was working with the state on different incentives before making an announcement about the new product line.
Appliance Park’s new products are called “Demand Response Appliances.”
With future energy costs expected to be more expensive during peak hours, G.E. is putting energy monitors on appliances to keep the costs down.
