LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) -- One of Louisville's largest transportation companies is getting even bigger. Miller Transportation unveiled its new $5 million state-of-the-art facility in South Louisville Thursday morning.
The 24-thousand square foot headquarters at 111 Outer Loop is twice the size of the former building, allowing maintenance and driver training to be completed on-site.
"We know that there's a lot that goes into bus service than just a price," said John Miller, Miller Transportation President. "It's all the safety, the training, the maintenance. And a facility like this makes it possible for us to have cutting edge services in that regard."
The family owned business started in Louisville in 1937.
Its workforce fluctuates between 340 and 400 employees operating about 250 vehicles. Miller operates school buses, motor coaches, team buses, trolleys, minibuses, and shuttle buses.
