NEW YORK (AP) — If your television show revolves around a search for someone missing, it helps to have Ashley Judd looking.
That's what the Nielsen television ratings taught ABC last week. The new series "Missing" landed among Nielsen's top 10 for its debut Thursday. Judd stars as a former CIA agent whose teenage son disappears in Europe.
ABC's newish drama "The River" had less than half as many viewers as "Missing." ''The River" is about a family looking for their father, a naturalist lost in strange circumstances in the Amazon.
CBS won the week's ratings race, as is typical. The finale of "The Bachelor" helped land ABC in the second spot.
Fox's "American Idol" was the most popular program on the air last week.
