LOUISVILLE, Ky. (September 4, 2013) – The following closures and lane restrictions are expected this week and next week in connection with construction on the Downtown Crossing:

Work scheduled for this week:

Kentucky Side:

•    The ramp from I-64 East to I-65 North is scheduled to close overnight Wednesday and Thursday (September 4-5) for demolition work in the area.  It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. both days.

•    The ramp from I-71 South to I-64 West is scheduled to close overnight Wednesday-Friday (September 4-6) for temporary striping and the placement of temporary barrier wall.  It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. each day.

•    One lane of I-64 East from 9th Street to I-65 is scheduled to close overnight Wednesday and Thursday (September 4-5) for demolition work in the area.  It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. both days.

Louisville Streets:

•    Witherspoon Street from Preston Street to Adams Street is scheduled to close overnight Wednesday, September 4 for demolition work in the area.  It will close around 8 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m.

•    The right lane of Jackson Street from Market Street to Main Street is scheduled to be closed Wednesday through Friday (September 4-6) for utility work.

Work scheduled for next week:

Kentucky Side:

•    The ramp from I-64 East to I-71 North is scheduled to close overnight Monday and Tuesday (September 9-10) for work on temporary lighting.  It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. both days.

•    The right lane of I-64 East from I-65 to the ramp to I-71 North is scheduled to close overnight Monday and Tuesday (September 9-10) for work on temporary widening.  It’s scheduled to close around 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. both days.

Louisville Streets:

•    Overnight lane restrictions are expected on Main Street from Hancock Street to Jackson Street on Monday, September 9 for storm sewer work.  One lane will be open in each direction.  The lanes are scheduled to close around 7 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m.

Indiana Side (Continuing Work):

•    US 31-South (Exit Ramp 1) from Brown Station Way to Stansifer Avenue will be reduced to two lanes for the next several months.

•    US 31-South, in the area just south of Stansifer Avenue, will be reduced to one lane for the next several months.  Vehicles are still able to exit onto 10th Street.

The actual starting date and duration for the work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
