•    Kentucky: Various north and southbound lanes of I-71 closed March 25-27: Various single lanes of northbound and southbound I-71 will be closed March 25-27 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day. These closures will take place in the vicinity of the KY 841 and I-71 interchange. Motorists will still be able to access these roads during this time.
 
•     Kentucky: One KY 841 southbound lane closed March 25-27:  The left southbound lane of KY 841, in the vicinity of the I-71 interchange, will be closed March 25-27 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day. The right southbound lane will remain open during this time.
 
•     Kentucky: Blasting schedule for week of March 24: Blasting to prepare for the new tunnel in the east end of Louisville is scheduled to occur near the intersection of U.S. 42 and KY 841 during the week of March 24.
 
•    Tunnel Blasting: Underground tunnel blasting, which began Jan. 27, 2014, in the east end of Louisville near the intersection of U.S. 42 and KY 841, does NOT require traffic stops. This blasting takes place Monday through Saturday during morning and afternoon hours. The noise from blasts may be noticeable, but the blasts pose no risk to the traveling public and local residents. Construction for the underground tunnel requires 24-hour work activities Monday through Saturday, and will continue throughout 2014.

o    The dates and approximate times for tunnel blasting will be:
o    Monday, March 24, at about 7:15 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o    Tuesday, March 25, at about 7:15 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o   Wednesday, March 26, at about 7:15 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o   Thursday, March 27, at about 7:15 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o   Friday, March 28, at about 7:15 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
 
•    Surface Blasting:  Surface blasting, which began in June 2013, does require traffic stops. Surface blasting also takes place Monday through Saturday during morning and afternoon hours. Prior to each blast, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic stops during the blasts will occur on KY 841 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and U.S. 42, and on U.S. 42 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and Bridgepointe Boulevard. In the event of unfavorable weather or other unforeseen activities, blast times may occasionally change.

o    The dates and approximate times for surface blasting (within 15 minutes) will be:
o    Monday, March 24, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:15 p.m.
o    Tuesday, March 25, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:15 p.m.
o   Wednesday, March 26, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:15 p.m.
o    Thursday, March 27, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:15 p.m.
o    Friday, March 28, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:15 p.m.
o   Saturday, March 29, at about 11 a.m. 
 
•    In addition to the tunnel and surface blasting taking place at the intersection of KY 841 and U.S. 42, surface blasting will take place at the north portal of the tunnel. The north portal is located in the vicinity of Shadow Wood Lane and Shadow Wood Drive. There will be no traffic stops for this blast.
o    The dates and approximate times for surface blasting (within 15 minutes) will be:
o   Monday, March 24, at about 2 p.m. 
o    Tuesday, March 25, at about 2 p.m. 
o    Wednesday, March 26, at about 2 p.m.
o   Thursday, March 27, at about 2 p.m.
o    Friday, March 28, at about 2 p.m.

NOTE: A message will be posted on the project website at www.kyinbridges.com Thursday of each week regarding the anticipated blasting schedule for the following week. Pre-blast surveys are ongoing; no blasting will occur within 500 feet of any residence prior to the completion of a pre-blast survey for that residence.

•    Indiana: Blasting schedule for week of March 24: Blasting to prepare for the East End Crossing is scheduled to occur in Indiana, just east of Utica, between the Ohio River and Salem Road during the week of March 24. Prior to SOME of these blasts, traffic must be stopped on Upper River Road for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public.

o    The dates and approximate times (within 15 minutes) will be:
o    Monday, March 24, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o   Tuesday, March 25, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o    Wednesday, March 26, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o    Thursday, March 27, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
o   Friday, March 28, at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 4:30 p.m.
