LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Authorities say alcohol contributed to an accident that killed one woman and sent two children to an area hospital Saturday.
The single-vehicle accident happened in the 6500 block of Scottsville Road in Floyds Knobs around 4:30 p.m.
According to a report, emergency crews found a vehicle on its top in a creek. They initially believed that one person was trapped but later said all three were out of the vehicle.
Two children were transported to Kosair Children’s Hospital and their condition is unknown.
The other victim, identified by the Floyd County Coroner as Wendy Lonowski, 32, of Louisville, was sent to University Hospital where she died as a result of blunt force trauma.
According to the Floyd County Coroner Lonowski was three times over the legal alcohol limit.
The investigation is ongoing.
