LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11) — A woman was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Produce Road at Jennings Lane.
The accident happened around 6:40 a.m. and the driver was heading west on Produce Road.
Police said they believe the driver, described as a woman in her 30s, hit a patch of ice, over-corrected and struck a utility pole. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
LMPD public information officer Carey Clain said they do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
"It does appear that there was just ice on the roadway. Something like that you just have to go very slow. If speed was a factor it was due to road conditions," Clain said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
