LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Thousands of students headed back to class Wednesday despite bitter cold temperatures and tricky road conditions.

One JCPS bus was involved in an injury accident. Police and emergency crews responded to the scene at Brook and Broadway streets just after 9 a.m. Apparently, a car rear-ended the bus.

Three students aboard bus #9985 suffered minor injuries and were treated, police said.

But that was only one accident after hundreds of JCPS buses hit the roadways Wednesday morning after Tuesday's snow and a drop in temperatures.
