Muskegon, Mich. (WHAS) – One of the tallest and largest singing Christmas trees in the world is on display in Muskegon, Michigan.

Members of the Mona Shores Choir held their final dress rehearsal Thursday evening.

The tree is 67-feet tall and holds nearly 300 choir members and each year one lucky senior is chose to climb to the top taking the coveted spot of the angel.

“We start rehearsing the music the day school starts. We are singing holiday songs in the hallways and it is funny to hear Jingle Bells in September,” Shawn Lawton, Mona Shores choir director said.

The singing Christmas tree is a school tradition that’s happened for more than two decades.
