Woman killed, another seriously injured in Trimble Co. crash

MILTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – One person was killed and another was seriously injured after an accident on Highway 36 in Trimble County, Ky. on Monday morning, Aug. 4.

The Kentucky State Police said a mini-van, driven by 21-year-old Jennifer Lundergan of Huntingburg, Ind., was traveling toward Milton, Ky. on Highway 36 when she attempted to pass another vehicle in foggy conditions.  Police said Lundergan’s van crashed head-on into a car, driven by 41-year-old Miachel Hancock-Eccles of Madison, Ind. Lundergan was pronounced dead at the scene by a coroner.

Hancock-Eccles was flown by Air Methods, Inc. to the University of Louisville Hospital. KSP said her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

According to KSP Lundergan and Hancock-Eccles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
