LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- DeJuan Hammond’s defense attorneys receive an on-camera interview with police from 2012 last week.

Woman:  “There was another case I overheard something about.”

Officer:  “What was that?”

We hid the woman’s identity after she expressed fear someone may kill her.

“Oh God, please Lord Jesus.  Please protect me now,” you can hear the woman say in the video.

This interview is one of the latest pieces of evidence against DeJuan Hammond, who is accused of hiring someone to kill 31-year-old Troya Sheckles for planning to testify against his brother, Lloyd Hammond, for killing her boyfriend.

“I personally overheard him arguing with his girlfriend,” she tells an officer.  The woman claims she could hear the argument from outside the home’s door.

“He made the comment that he would… ‘I would smoke you like I did the ----- at Shelby Park,’” she claimed Hammond said.

Sheckles was killed at Shelby Park.  The woman said she never went inside the home.

“I walked away,” she said.  “I did not… that’s not something I wanted to hear.”

“How did you know it was them?” asked the officer.

“Because I went to their house to buy crack,” she said.

Police ask her to describe Hammond and pick him out of photos.  His defense attorneys tried to get the case dismissed, but it will go on this fall.
