LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—West Buechel’s City Council will be able to hire their own attorney.
On Thursday the council passed an ordinance to allow Steve Emory to represent the council in legal matters.
Some of the current Council members do not believe the city’s current lawyer is giving them proper legal advice, feeling he is an advocate for the mayor, not the city as a whole.
They had a meeting scheduled for Wednesday night, but it was canceled by the mayor after she realized the Council did not follow proper procedure.
Despite all of the current problems with the small city, all of the city’s services are still functioning.
