(WHAS11) -- A Virginia man got a big surprise when he checked the mail last week and found a voter registration card addressed to his dog.
Mozart the dog died two years ago but his owner, Tim Morris, got a card addressed to "Mo" the family's nickname for the dog.
What amazed Morris the most is that if Mozart was human, he would have been eligible to vote this year.
The card didn't come from the Virginia Board of Elections, it came from a private non-profit group that is trying to organize more voters.
The group says it buys mailing lists from vendors and while employees try and check every name, they admit that some do fall through the cracks.
