LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The head of Louisville Metro Police Viper Unit is being investigated.
Kit Steimle was reassigned and will not be working with the unit that was designed to decrease violent crime.
Steimle is being investigated by the Professional Standards Board. No comment has been made by LMPD about the nature of the investigation.
The Viper Unit was formed following after shootings on May 17, 2013 left three people dead in West Louisville.
