(WHAS11) -- We are learning more about a 30-year-old Louisville woman killed over the weekend in a car crash. Family and friends say Danielle Chappell was a cook who loved to be with her family.
"If somebody mistreats somebody she always wants to know why. She wanted everybody to get along," Henry McBride, the victim's stepfather said.
Chappell was killed in a car accident in the 3200 block of 7th street in Shively Saturday morning. The car she was riding in lost control, hit an abandoned car and then struck a fence. She died at the scene.
"She had called and said, and her boyfriend said come and get her and I was at work and he said take me to get Danielle," McBride said.
Chappell's stepfather was not able to pick her up. By the time he was able to get her he says it was too late.
"I looked for her and I could not find her. By the time I found her, there was yellow tape everywhere," McBride said.
Chappell is remembered as an amazing cook - who loved working at her job at Wendy's.
There was another woman in the car who survived the crash.
Funeral arrangements are pending for Chappell.
Police are still trying to determine who was behind the wheel.
